When the decision was made to re-platform their website we saw two compelling opportunities:

Firstly, to represent their international activity and facilitate Safe Events Global’s plans for growth and expansion.

Our second opportunity was to distinguish between Safe Events Global specialities ‘Event Safety’ and ‘Crowd Safety’ and showcase their work through stunning visual case studies.

Safe Events Global work on numerous high-scale global events from Sandstorm to Dublin Zoo Wild Lights. Their website needed to showcase the level of the team’s expertise, as well as the events they work on.

Extensive user research and workshops were conducted to understand the target audience, including event organisers, clients, and industry professionals. Our user experience process included prototyping, testing, developing and designing the complete digital experience. Combining research, UX, UI, prototyping & frontend design, we transformed the Safe Events Global site into a premium experience.

By auditing, benchmarking and discovery of the ModX platform which the previous Safe Events website was on, we decided a transition to GRANITE X WONDR’s bespoke WordPress system on WP Engine would be best suited to the Safe Events Global re-platform providing a best-in-class user experience roadmap.

GRANITE began the design process, working from concepts of ‘Contemporary Clarity’ and ‘Choosing your own Adventure’.

We aimed to create an experience that communicates a balance of passion and professionalism, while celebrating events and clearly communicating safety expertise.

Creating a smooth UX & UI empowering users to ‘choose their own adventure’ through access to relevant content quickly, highlighted case studies and finding a better balance between guided journeys and elevating valuable content.

Having set the digital strategy, user experience and digital branding, we tailored all templates, components and interactions to carry Safe Events Global’s character across the entire user interface, from A through to B.

Utilising a professional colour palette with a vibrancy to convey energy, GRANITE X WONDR created a consistent visual language and visually appealing layout to highlight key information, case studies, and articles.

Our design work touched on every detail and aspect of the re-platforming project.

All assets, patterns and templates were then made available through a set of detailed digital guidelines. These acted as a bank of digital design assets for the Safe Events Global’s creative team to easily access, share and build from.

GRANITE X WONDR implemented a blog-type feature that allows for seamless content updates and scalability for future enhancements. It was important to ensure the website is scalable, performant, and secure, allowing for future growth and updates.

With Safe Events Global growth plans made it important for the team to consider localisation options for supporting translations.
