TU Dublin had a requirement to unify the websites from three merging institutes of technology into one primary website. The challenge was that the three websites’ branding, content, audiences, and functionality were completely different.
Granite was awarded the contract to design and implement a robust, easy-to-use, scalable, flexible website for TU Dublin that could efficiently manage, maintain, and simultaneously publish all content on www.tudublin.ie, its microsites, and social media channels.
Granite was to develop a high-quality TU Dublin website that was responsive across all devices, easy to navigate, intuitive to use, bilingual, accessible, and fast with advanced search features and capabilities, all within an incredibly tight deadline of four months.
During this short four-month project, Granite mobilised the full scale of its project management and technical resources and combined them to deliver the following range of services during this project:
Granite redesigned the TU Dublin websites to serve the needs of students (prospective, incoming, and current), Faculty, Alumni, Recruiters & industry & staff. We ensured all three component websites were amalgamated within the TU Dublin ecosystem.
Granite designed and built a highly visually intuitive website incorporating world-class design techniques, which capture the user’s attention from the moment they land on the site throughout their journey until they leave the site. By combining the benefits of a strong design and an integrated development process with Terminalfour, our joint experience of developing several sites into Terminalfour CMS as a project team delivered a very successful project. We shared our best strategies and solutions for TU Dublin’s new transformation.
The website can convey a vast amount of varied information formats while simultaneously providing an appealing user experience that is easy to navigate. The website’s structure, navigation, and content communicate effectively with different stakeholder groups and meet best practice requirements. The site is fully scalable, which enables its capacity to grow and adapt to account for technology advances as TU Dublin does.
“Mammoth day today. As you all know TU Dublin is launching its new site at 3:30pm and this has been a tremendous team effort combining Terminalfour and Granite. This project tendered in Q2 with an impossible timeframe and everyone in Granite and Terminalfour there has been an incredibly impressive application of effort to get to this day. A project of this size would usually take 10 - 11 months, we kicked off in mid-May and have done it in four. Well done everyone involved for their relentless attention to detail.”
